Our Story

Our Story

Founded in 2018, the Rod Bragg Music City PrEP Clinic is a sexual health and wellness clinic. Our mission is to get to zero new HIV transmissions in Nashville and middle Tennessee. We do this by providing free PrEP care regardless of income or insurance status.  Our services include discreet, no-cost lab testing for HIV and all STDs, plus Hepatitis A, B, & C . When appropriate, we provide patients with a prescription for PrEP (currently Truvada or Descovy).

Rich MacKinnon
Executive Director

Bio & Credentials

Rich MacKinnon co-founded Music City PrEP Clinic in 2017 with Rod Bragg, Joe Taylor, and Steven Davidson. After Bragg’s untimely passing, shortly after the clinic’s founding, MacKinnon took over the role of Executive Director. In less than two years, MacKinnon has grown the clinic from a small start-up with a handful of patients to the largest provider of PrEP in the state of Tennessee.

MacKinnon comes from a diverse background as a technology entrepreneur in Silicon Valley and Austin; civic leader chairing the City of Austin’s Urban Transportation Commission, Downtown Commission, and Capitol Metro’s (Austin regional transit authority) Customer Satisfaction Advisory Committee; and community activist serving on the boards of ACLU of Texas, EFF-Austin, Central Texas Civil Liberties Union, Austin Wireless, and Austin Public Transit Alliance.
